Treatment policy
Chances of Pregnancy -
The success rates of IVF treatment at SAMAD IVF are as below:
IUI 10-15% :: IVF 25-30% :: ICSI 30-35%
- IUI success rates will reach 20 % in normal females, if donor semen is inseminated.
- In blastocyst transfer, the IVF success rates will be high.
- Success rate decreases with advanced female age, especially after 35 - 40 years.
- With advanced female age, the ovum number and quality of ovum decreases and acceptance of donor egg in such cases will produce higher percentage of success.
Counseling
Religion, society, law, morality, ethics and self esteem will be considered. Adoption and childless life will be discussed. Counseling provides an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have about your treatment, its implications for you or infertility generally. However, you do not have to accept offers of counseling if you do not feel it would be helpful.
Counseling will help you understand the implications of the purposed treatment especially for people considering treatment with donated sperm, eggs or embryos. It will give emotional support at times of particular stress, eg. when there is a failure to achieve pregnancy. Counseling helps people to adjust their expectations and to accept the situation.
Planning of treatment
There will be absolute transparency in regard to methods and procedures employed for your treatment. The couple will be involved at every stage in the decision making and planning of treatment.
Consent and contract
All ART investigations and treatments will be undertaken only after informed and understood consent and contract.
Complaints
If you wish to make a complaint about any aspect of your treatment please speak to one of the staff. If you would prefer to write, please ask for the name of the head of the unit and you will have an answer of your complaint.
Complications
Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) may be seen. This is a possible side effect of ovulation induction and it results in accumulation of fluid within the abdominal cavity causing distension, discomfort, painful ovaries. During monitoring and treatment one must take great efforts to reduce the risk. Coasting will help prevention of OHSS. Complications due to anesthesia, surgery, bleeding and infection may be encountered occasionally.
Confidentiality
Any treatment at SAMAD IVF is strictly confidential. To maintain this confidentiality, we will not contact your family or family doctor about any treatment that you have had at SAMAD IVF and we cannot give any personal information, even if they request it without your permission.
Review of Failure
Failure to achieve pregnancy will be seriously reviewed by the management and steps and procedures will be reassessed.
Reassessment of couple
The failure to achieve pregnancy in one cycle will be followed by similar attempts in another cycles. After three treatment cycles of failure, the couple will be reassessed with more investigations and observations. Alternate treatment modalities will be considered.
Stoppage of treatment
